Duncan is joining forces with pop mogul Pete Waterman to encourage people throughout the Chippenham constituency to give their time to benefit the local community as part of CSV Make a Difference Day, on Saturday 30th October.
Make a Difference Day is the UK’s biggest single day of volunteering with nearly three quarters of a million people taking part since its launch in 1996.
Each year, tens of thousands of people use their own skills to benefit others in the community, like baking cakes for nursing homes, creating allotments in schools, putting on theatrical performances and visiting patients in hospitals to name but a few.
This year, there is a special focus on encouraging families to volunteer as well as individuals and groups. New independent research commissioned by CSV has shown that nearly half of Britons say they would like to spend more time together. Volunteering to help others is one way to do this.
“In my constituency, I’ve seen the positive impact volunteering can make on the local community.
“As a supporter of CSV Make a Difference Day, I am encouraging my constituents to do something to benefit the community no matter how big or small on October the 30th.”
